Home 04:24
Snowy kingdom welcome back. You look peaceful as can be. Your trees are bare, but holding weight. Until it all drifts off into the lake. The warming air releases pent up toils. The shiny ground prepares to feed my soul. Wetness floats along the flippant breeze. Signs of life are peeking from the trees. Stick around and you'll agree. A change is nice in the scenery. Seasons come and go when you live in Ohio. Yeah, that is fine by me. Rocky carpet tickled by the foam. The tides rush in and out competing with the sun. While tethered to the moon unceasingly. The brightness bested only by the heat. Stick around and you'll agree. A change is nice in the scenery. Seasons come and go when you live in Ohio. Yeah, that is fine by me. The colors dart about on whirling sails. The days grow dark the static lifts your curls. It’s comforting to see, even though we’re all complaining. A year has passed. Let’s start again. Stick around and you'll agree. A change is nice in the scenery. Seasons come and go when you live in Ohio. Everything in your life may change, but here you can count on the snow, sun, and rain, sometimes in the same day. Seasons come and go when you are home. Home, in Ohio. Home, in Ohio. Home, in Ohio.

With Me 03:08
Those nights; when you try to fall asleep as fast as you can. Those nights; cruising through your routine on the surface without thinking. Because you know a cry is brewing again. Those nights; I can’t help you with those my friend. But I can say with certainty. Those nights; they won’t happen with me. Those times; when you can’t decide if you are hurt or happy. Those times; when love turns into running away and you are afraid that you, and your negative self are all that you have. Those times; I can’t help you with those my friend. But I can say with certainty. Those times; they won’t happen with me. I will pick you up, pick you up, pick you up now. I will carry you, carry you, carry you now. Won’t let you down, won’t let you down, no. Those times; I can’t help you with those my friend. But I can say with certainty, those times, they won’t happen with me. These days; when you forget how far down you fell. These days; when hindsight no longer matters it’s only 180. Knowing that you know who you are is all that’s important to me. These days; they will continue with me. These good days; they will continue with me. These good days; they will continue with me.

My Light 04:39
I stand in a beam of light. I wish we didn't fight, but I see clearly now. I fell, the darkness crushed my will. It closes on me still, even though you say it's alright. And I feel the hurt I never knew. I thought that my life was the truth. You turned me on. I always thought I was strong. You looked my way, and you took my heart. You turned on me. After all I believed. You blew my mind, and my light out. I prayed to feel nothing. I was empty, but full of you. I prayed to survive another day. For a brave soul to match my brave face. I never knew what my heart would do. Your smile was too heavy for me to see through. You turned me on. I always thought I was strong. You looked my way, and you took my heart. You turned on me. After all I believed. You blew my mind, and my light out. When your world is too big, instead of traveling, traveling, you collapse under its size. I need just enough world. Just enough, just enough you're gonna make me cry. I feel your arms around me, it's too much, you're my too much. Now give me back my light. You turned me on. I always thought I was strong. You looked my way, and you took my heart. You turned on me. After all I believed. You blew my mind, and my light out.

I hear your laughter inside my hourglass. Your resonance reduces it to shards. The glass is flying, it alway finds me. It cuts me down. And I am down, I am down. You cut me down, you lose me with your perfect timing. All of me was in, now I'm frozen on the edge of bad thoughts. They're creeping in just to kill me. They push me down, now I'm lost. And I am down, I am down. You push me down, you lose me with your perfect timing. Do I exist? Can I still see? I feel the slaps across my face and I believe. The sting will fade. There is blood and so the world takes notice. It takes a crimson sacrifice, self inflicted, for change to happen. Are our peaceful proceedings irrelevant then? Arrogance won't stand at attention until it feels threatened by exposure, so the louder you scream the more people will hear you. But if words are just words then no action attaches, so they float away diffusing in the distance until the shrieking becomes a chilling breeze on the neighboring shore. They fly away darting in paths of least resistance, longing to cling to free air. I am down. I am down, you lost me with your perfect timing.

My voice will matter while I am breathing. Until my word is loud enough for you to hear. Until it blows your house down. Until it pours out red. Hey, hey! Outside of myself I look over to where I am dancing. My plastered smile is a mask of doubt in the chances I take. I'm surrounded by emptiness on all the faces. Then they're all staring back at me, and I try to escape. Pour me one last drink. I'm not quite done. I'll take it neat. Pour me one last drink. I can still see. I can still think. Hey, hey! Someone once told me, and I tend to agree. That the key to success in life is sticking with anything. The noise around your mind plays its part, of tempting you elsewhere when life gets hard. Pour me one last drink. I'm not quite done. I'll take it neat. Pour me one last drink. I can still see. I can still think. Hey, hey! Pour me one last drink. I'm not quite done. I'll take it neat. Pour me one last drink. I can still see. I can still think. (2x)

about

"Grounded" features 5 of Michelle's new songs, as well as a bonus acoustic version of her new song, "Home."

"Guitarist Brent Hamker arranged the songs on local singer-songwriter Michelle Romary's terrific new album, Grounded, which was engineered locally by Michael Seifert. Album opener, "Home," began as a poem and then became a children's song before Romary tweaked it into the mid-tempo guitar-driven rock tune that's on Grounded. "With Me" has a reggae vibe and "My Light" has a spaghetti-Western vibe. "One Last Drink" begins with soulful vocals before wailing guitars kick in." - Jeff Niesel, Cleveland Scene Magazine
